This collection of eighteen narrative texts on the ogres (muérra maráma), their conflicting relationship with humans, those who devour and whose women they kidnapped, and the divine decision to banish them across the sea, is preceded by an introduction to traditional literature Guatusa and the position within it of the narratives in question.
