In the history of political and diplomatic relations between Costa Rica and Nicaragua, there is a long record of negotiations, conflicts, open confrontations and also, the existence of shared regional cooperation and integration instances, others in which Costa Rica does not participate. This is the case of the Central American Parliament, and a series of instances and dynamics that can only be understood in historical perspective and with the vocation of the researcher that is not satisfied with a purely descriptive or prejudiced approach.
