This work investigates the discourse of Human Rights in the Esquipulas II Peace Agreement, specifically with respect to the concepts of peace, development and democracy. Today, twenty years after its signing, a rereading of this Agreement is made, based on new hermeneutical means in the field of Human Rights, focused on the critical analysis of discourse, as part of a speculative way of being of language. The impure logic of Human Rights gives the guideline to execute a critical-discursive analysis on power, its ideological conceptions of the ideal and its direct relationship with the real.
Esquipulas II involves in the first instance direct intervention to all of Latin America - Grupo Contadora and Grupo el Apoyo - to later regionalize the conflict and become Central America.
The importance of this critical analysis of discourse, written and ratified two decades ago, lies in explaining the logic, language and scope of a fundamental regional instrument within the traditional framework of Human Rights, showing the cultural antagonisms in which they unfold. the positive rights.
