This article reconstructs Costa Rica between 1914 and 1940, characterizes the economic structure, economic crises, the situation, and the State's responses in the economic and social spheres. The profile of society and the struggles of urban and rural workers in the search for greater social justice are studied. Finally, the electoral political dynamics of the period and the emergence of new political parties are analyzed.
