This work includes the only linguistic study done in Costa Rica, so far, on a language of Mesoamerican origin, the Chorotega or Mangue, belonging to the Ottoman language family. It includes an analysis of its grammar and the edition, in the form of a dictionary, of all the vocabulary and phraseology collected in the second half of the 19th century, in Nicaragua.
