In this book three aspects of Virilla river basin combined, between 1840 and 1955: the environment, the cultivation and processing of coffee and society. The research focused on the framework of environmental history, which the media plays a leading role, but both have closely integrated the two other elements to show the conflicts that occurred in the period under review due to pollution of the water produced in the benefits of coffee and affecting the populations of the basin.
